Description

These Peanut Butter Protein Balls are soft, chewy, and easy to make with simple ingredients. Peanut butter adds rich flavor, while oats and protein powder make these little bites a filling snack for busy days.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips, optional
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk, as needed

Instructions

  • Combine the ingredients: Add the oats, protein powder, and ground flaxseed to a large bowl.
  • Add the wet ingredients: Stir in the peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, vanilla, and salt.
  • Mix well: Stir until everything is evenly combined and a thick dough forms.
  • Adjust the texture: If the mixture feels too dry, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Add chocolate chips: Fold them in if using.
  • Shape the balls: Scoop out about 1 tablespoon of mixture at a time and roll between your hands to form balls.
  • Chill: Place the protein balls on a plate or tray and refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
  • Serve: Enjoy right away or keep them chilled for an easy snack later.

Notes

Storage

Store the protein balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

You can also freeze them for up to 3 months. Thaw them in the refrigerator before eating.

Recipe Tips

  • Use creamy peanut butter for protein balls that are easy to roll.
  • If the mixture is sticky, chill it for 10–15 minutes before shaping.
  • Add shredded coconut, chopped peanuts, or cacao nibs for extra texture.
  • Use chocolate protein powder for a chocolate peanut butter version.
  • For a softer texture, add an extra teaspoon of peanut butter.
